Passing the acceptance in one go without any rectifications fully demonstrates the excellent strength of China's gas equipment," said technical experts from Indonesia's PERTAMINA (Pertamina) as they gave a thumbs-up and solemnly signed the "qualified" conclusion for the two 4,000 cubic meters per hour CNG pressure reduction skids in the modern production workshop of Hebei Tairan Energy Technology Co., Ltd. at the end of April. Since then, this Hebei-based enterprise has successfully opened the door to Southeast Asia's largest state-owned energy group.

At the end of April this year, PERTAMINA sent a senior expert team led by its technical director to Nangong City, Xingtai, Hebei Province, to conduct factory acceptance of the two 4,000 cubic meters per hour CNG pressure reduction skids tailor-made by Hebei Tairan for the company. During the three-day rigorous testing, Indonesian experts inspected each index of the equipment item by item in accordance with international standards and PERTAMINA's internal technical specifications. The final result was inspiring: all test items met the standards in one go, and many indicators were better than the contractual requirements.

When signing the acceptance report, the leader of the Indonesian expert team said: "Tairan's equipment has mature craftsmanship and a reasonable skid layout, and its stability exceeds our expectations. Facts have proved that China's high-end gas equipment is fully capable of participating in global competition."

Revealing the "Hardcore" Equipment: What Makes the 4,000 m³ CNG Pressure Reduction Skid Conquer the International Giant?

The CNG pressure reduction skids that passed the acceptance this time are one of the flagship products of Hebei Tairan Energy Technology Co., Ltd. They are specially used to safely and stably reduce the pressure of high-pressure compressed natural gas (CNG) to the pressure required by users through complete processes such as filtration, heating, pressure regulation, metering, and odorization, and then transport it to the downstream pipeline network. The equipment adopts a high-strength structural design, which can withstand a maximum inlet pressure of 25MPa (megapascals), and the outlet pressure can be freely set within the range of 0.1-4.0MPa according to user needs, covering most industrial and urban gas application scenarios.

In terms of product structure, Tairan's CNG pressure reduction skid adopts a dual-path main-standby automatic switching design—each set of equipment includes two complete pressure reduction, heating, shutdown, and metering systems, one in use and one standby. When an abnormality occurs in the main path or maintenance is required, the system can automatically switch to the standby loop within a few seconds to achieve continuous gas supply without interruption, which is particularly suitable for occasions with high requirements for gas supply continuity such as refineries, power plants, and industrial parks.

The core heating unit adopts an efficient water bath electric heater or steam heater (optional according to the user's on-site energy conditions). Through the cooperation of a stainless steel coil with a large heat exchange area and a PID temperature control system, it can ensure that the outlet temperature of natural gas is always higher than the dew point and hydrocarbon dew point under an ambient temperature of -30℃, completely eliminating the risk of ice blockage and frost heave. Although Indonesia has a tropical climate, the equipment can also adapt to extreme working conditions and has strong versatility.

The pressure regulation system adopts internationally renowned brand (or high-end domestic optional) axial flow or indirect acting pressure regulators with a pressure regulation accuracy of ±1%, resulting in minimal fluctuation in outlet pressure. The upstream is also equipped with a two-stage filtration device (primary cyclone separation + high-precision coalescing filter), which can effectively remove dust, rust, and liquid droplets carried by natural gas, protecting downstream precision instruments and combustion equipment.

Safety devices are even Tairan's strength: each path is equipped with a combination of dual safety shut-off valves (SSV) + overpressure relief valves. Once the outlet pressure abnormally rises to the set value, the safety shut-off valve will be forced to close within milliseconds, while the explosion-proof relief valve will automatically open to release pressure, with on-site sound and light alarm and remote transmission to the control room. The entire skid is also equipped with explosion-proof pressure transmitters, temperature transmitters, differential pressure transmitters, and intelligent flow computers (which can be connected to roots flowmeters or ultrasonic flowmeters), which not only realize on-site large-screen display but also support multiple communication methods such as RS485, GPRS, and Ethernet, and can be seamlessly connected to PERTAMINA's SCADA monitoring system to achieve remote unattended operation.

Skid-mounted and modular design is a major advantage of Tairan—all pipelines, valves, instruments, and electrical control cabinets are integrated on a high-strength I-beam base. On-site, only the inlet and outlet flanges, power supply, and signal lines need to be connected, and installation and commissioning can be completed within one day, which greatly reduces the construction difficulty and construction period on-site in Indonesia.
